SCHC is a wonderful and magical place offering alternatives for self discovery and treatment. This non 12 step program was right for me and could be for you.

I've just completed the 30 Day program at SCHC and I can so with 100% honesty…it was the best decision and best choice I could have made. I took my time to research facilities, asked my therapist for advice and the advice of her peers on the best options available. SCHC was my first choice based on my own research and was also the most recommended facility by my therapist's group of peers.

First and foremost, the staff, the therapists, the nurses, the kitchen staff, the cleaning staff…all of them are truly amazing people and professionals and made my time here very comfortable. Their approach of focusing on trauma, mental illness or PTSD as the issue and that addiction (of any sort) is the symptom is what really changed my life. I've learnt to confront and understand the "why". Learning about and discovering what got me here, understanding the root cause of my issues and allowed me to really tackle what was substance abuse "symptoms."

The men that I've shared this experience with have come from all walks of life and all over the country and I've learnt as much from them as I have from the professional therapists.

I honestly truly recommend SCHC to any man who is struggling to find himself, his authentic self. This is not the cheapest option…but its the best investment I've ever made…an investment in me…which benefits ME and as a result…my family and friends.

A special thank you to Dr Howard, Davis Briscoe, Sara Klinkhamer, Geoff Thompson, Kye Taylor, Monique Harwood-Lynn, Sara Beauregard and the man that is the glue around here…Terryl Bertagnolli. Terryl, you are more amazing to us guys than you'll ever know.

But as I said at the start of this review…they are all amazing human beings and great professionals on the team.

When I decided I wanted to change my life for the better schc is the only place I considered. As an Alumni, I knew that I would be able to heal and learn at my own pace. The doctors, nurses, counselors, support staff, kitchen staff and everyone here including clients are some of the best and supportive people I've ever met. I don't think there's anyone out there that wouldn't benefit from a stay here regardless of where they are in their lives. Schc provides the tools that enable us to live our best lives in an enjoyable and sustainable way. If you are reading this and considering coming, don't hesitate as long as you are ready for a positive change and prepared to be honest with yourself and the amazing staff here you will no doubt make a tremendous difference in your life.

The center is beautiful, the location is perfect for any kind of recovery needed. A chance to re-connect to nature as I did with my recovery. What is most important though is the people who work there. I received amazing counselling, hypnosis and help from both Doctors. The staff were amazing, nursing and the kitchen staff and cleaners. All were a big part in my success leaving the center as a better person. Amazing client services and Mandy from the Alumni office worked overtime to make sure the center was doing what needed to happen for my treatment. Since leaving the center I have remained in touch and honestly don't think I would be doing as well without Mandy's help that I am still to this day receiving. :) A great experience overall.

The staff and the location are amazing. You got treated like an equal. They had fantastic outdoor activities and the whole experience couldn't have been better.

Upon arrival I met staff first obviously and they were very kind and professional. I was fortunate enough to also be introduced to around half a dozen clients my first night who had just finished a drumming session and they were very welcoming as well. It was a relief to me because as you can expect I was very nervous . It made my arrival easier

Support staff, facilitators and client services all wonderful and willing to help. Ultimately, you'll get out of it what you put into it.Appointments with doctor/psychiatrist limited and rushed. Tech setup was poor (remote access for covid +, Zoom meetings).Facility itself was great, clean gym and pool, lots of room and great views. Meals varied and usually pretty good. Wouldn't say the food is always "healthy". Would have liked more of a focus on nutrition and health.

Geographically situated in a beautiful peaceful place. Loved the freedom feeling. staff is comprehensive and oriented to clients welfare and needs. wide range of activities/therapy that, combined, ease the recovery of body, mind and spirit.

I wish I came here years ago, the staff and the facilities are top notch. I got everything I was hoping for and even more.

Great doctors, nursing staff, counselors, kitchen staff and programs all around. Way better than any 12 step program by far.
