About Serenity Grove
Serenity Grove is a dual-diagnosis addiction treatment center that has medical alcohol and drug detox, evidence-based treatment programs, and lifetime continuing care. Serenity Grove is located in the beautiful Athens, GA and is in a private and discreet residential area. Serenity Grove offers residential, residential detox, and outpatient education and treatment. Serenity Grove uses practices that are established by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). They do evaluations upon admission to create an individualized treatment program. The Serenity Plus Plan is grounded in the therapeutic community model. This plan is broken down into 2 phases with each phase consisting of 45 days. The client in phase 1 is involved in 1-on-1 therapy to address the unique needs of the client. Phase 1 clients are also involved in group therapy, an evidence-based curriculum, and experiential therapy. Evidence-based modalities, including CBT and DBT, are used in conjunction with psycho-educational sessions. Groups address the 12 Steps, relapse prevention, coping skills, and stress reduction techniques. During this phase, there is a focus on life in recovery, nutrition and exercise, and planning to round out phase 1. In the next phase, clients take a part-time job and start volunteering. Phase 2 is intended to simulate a return to day-to-day living while still in a structured environment. Serenity Grove is accredited by the Joint Commission. They accept most major insurance companies.
Serenity Grove is located minutes from Lake Oconee. The residential rehab can accommodate up to 12 clients at a time. At Serenity Grove clients have the option between a single or double occupancy room. The bedrooms are gender-specific. All meals are included and prepared on-site by one of their chefs. They offer comfortable meeting rooms for therapy group sessions and smaller ones for individual sessions.
