During an inpatient stay, clients will attend group and individual therapy, receive care from Genesis’ psychiatrist, and learn trauma-healing techniques. Medications may be used during and after detox to make the experience as comfortable as possible. Holistic approaches at Genesis House include yoga, massage therapy, and animal-assisted therapy. Each stage of treatment is overseen by a member of their highly qualified staff–someone who is compassionate, empathetic, and full of the knowledge and expertise clients need to recover in comfort.

Special Programs For First Responders And Christians

Clients will receive a fully customized treatment plan at Genesis House, regardless of their profession, circumstance, or gender. Genesis does offer specialized programs for Christians and First Responders, believing that each group brings background information that can connect and nourish. Their First Responders program, run by a former NYPD detective and Vietnam veteran, delves into workplace trauma. Genesis’ Christian recovery track heavily leans into the spiritual aspects of the 12-Step program, offering Bible studies and spiritual workshops to recenter clients around God. Clients will receive a continuum of care in any and every treatment program at Genesis House, from detox to aftercare.

Genesis House firmly believes that recovery and sobriety can be–and are–fun. To prove this, they embark on adventures to the beach, play each other in volleyball or billiards tournaments, or relax under the care of a licensed masseuse and yoga instructor.
