Gateway Carbondale uses trauma-specific therapy to address any co-occurring psychiatric issues at the same time as substance abuse. With individualized care and personalized treatment plans, Gateway can focus on the clients specific needs while addressing the root cause of the addiction. No matter the type of trauma, Gateway Carbondale can help women face trauma and discover how to move forward, while eliminating symptoms of addiction associated with the trauma. Throughout the program, women will learn healthy ways of coping to minimize the chances of a relapse. Treatment includes eye movement therapy (EMDR), individual and family therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), art therapy, nutrition, exercise, 12-Step philosophy, mindfulness therapy, and much more.
The Carbondale facility is nestled on a 14-acre, peaceful property surrounded by woods. This gender-specific environment was purposely built to provide an atmosphere where women feel safe and secure. At Gateway Carbondale, women have shared bedrooms with twin-sized beds and shared bathrooms. Inside the facility, clients can enjoy a lounge area, cafe, and indoor gymnasium with a basketball court. Outside, women can take advantage of the green space provided by enjoying walks or relaxing in the outdoor gazebo. Gateway Foundation in Carbondale is accredited by The Joint Commission and accepts most private insurance.
