DARA Thailand

DARA Thailand was the first addiction rehab facility in South East Asia and is Asia’s premier international destination for addiction treatment. DARA uses a holistic approach to treating addiction and co-occurring mental healthy conditions. A typical day at DARA includes a busy and productive combination of scheduled activities and individual written work. Most days start with something physical or spiritual, such as a flexibility session, a water workout, or a morning meditation session. This is followed by a nutritious breakfast of fruit, cereal, and cooked dishes. From breakfast until dinner, clients will have a combination of psycho-educational and process group therapy sessions, followed by a Thai massage or a workout session with a personal trainer. Clients will also receive individual therapy sessions with a counselor. On the weekends, the pace is a little slower, and while there are still group therapy sessions, the program also allows for free time. In addition, weekends have organized excursions, which can range from Thai cooking classes, to elephant trekking, to just relaxing on one of the island’s many pristine beaches.

The resort facility is located on the tropical island of Koh Chang in the Gulf of Thailand. It is a former five-star resort that has been tailored for use as a residential facility, so it really is the best of both worlds.
