A rehab center in downtown Madison offering outpatient therapy for substance use and mental health conditions.
About Connections Counseling
Connections Counseling offers strength-based counseling and addiction education to adults, college students, young adults, and teens in the city of Madison. Their major therapies include individual, group, and family counseling with trauma-focused CBT, EMDR, and DBT methods. Clients can participate in outpatient therapy, Connection Counseling’s intensive outpatient program, or local psychoeducational meetings.
The Connections Counseling intensive outpatient program (IOP) is a 24-session group that meets three times a week for three hours each time. The IOP format consists of experiential exercises, relapse prevention techniques, recovery speakers, social support, art therapy, and yoga and meditation. Additionally, Connections Counseling provides specialty treatment groups, such as DBT therapy groups, LGBTQ+ tracks, coed adult groups, and gender-specific groups. Clients can also benefit from off-site TMS treatment sessions for depression, 12 Step meetings, and medication management.
One of their specialty offerings is their alcohol and marijuana education and harm reduction programs for college students. UW-Madison students and those from other colleges can engage in substance use classes conveniently set on locations at the UW-Madison campus. Their adolescent treatment track for teens ages 13-18 offers a 12-step introduction, relevant speakers, and peer mentors. They also provide opportunities outside the core program for yoga, meditation, and art therapy.
